Bed Bug Removal, Thermal Remediation Heat Treatments

Bed Bugs,

These parasitic pests infest you’re home, you’re furniture, you’re bed, you’re belongings… They bite and feed on you, you’re family and even pets. They usually go unnoticed at first biting periodically till the population grows. The 1st stage instar nymphs are so small they are hard to see. About the size of a ball in a ballpoint pen. They grow from this size feeding between molting till they reach the 5th stage which then makes them reproductive. The female bedbug can lay hundreds of eggs. These eggs can be laid in many places. Sleeping in a different room only spreads the bed bugs as they trail carbon dioxide and are able to crawl about 20 feet in any given 24 hour period. The eggs are sticky, tacky and can travel on you, on shoes. on clothing, in bags, and in so many other ways making them spread bye the host. These pests are parasitic vampires and the difficulty in dealing with them is getting tougher and tougher.

Numerous studies are now finding bed bug resistance to pyretheroids and neonicatoids, the most commonly used chemical combinations of insecticides used to eradicate bed bugs. These pests area already hard to get rid of but resistant bed bugs make it even tougher.

We personally talk to people daily about bedbugs and with many already having spent hundreds of dollars trying to deal with these pests themselves. Some have even hired pest control operators, companies to deal with the bedbugs but chemical resistance is growing and not all pest control operators are equal in the quality of work provided and use of pesticides. Of course the biggest problem is people themselves. Here is a list of a few reasons why somebody may get or have bedbugs after a treatment.

1)     Bedbugs reintroduced unknowingly into the structure
2)     Possible bed bug issue at work or place of business
3)     Bedbug problem spread to vehicle
4)     They know somebody that has bed bugs and visit each other
5)     The home was not properly prepared for treatment, clutter, debree
6)     A portion of the bedbug population has become chemical resistance

Of course many other factors could be the cause but these a few of the common reasons.

At EnviroTech we recommend dealing with this pest problem sooner rather than later. It only get’s worse putting it off. Heat kills bed bugs and we offer this service. Introducing to the structure the use of a process called thermal remediation or heat kills bedbugs and bed bug eggs. Chemicals can be used sparingly for a residual and placed in strategic places rather than everywhere keeping toxic chemical use at a minimum.

The thermal eradication treatment for bed bugs can take hours to all day depending on a number of factors such as structure size and layout. The home must be vacated for the day of treatment but you’ll be glad to know you can stay in the home that evening. Nuisance Wildlife Removal Services Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Oklahoma

Nuisance Wildlife Removal Services Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Oklahoma

This week I had the opportunity to help some folks that called with an animal stuck in there wall. Upon arrival I found an opening that had been chewed out by squirrels in the soffit of the home. The animal in the wall however was located along the inside wall of the garage about 15′ from this opening. Since squirrels are such good climbers I had my doubts that it was a squirrel stuck in the wall unless it was a baby squirrel.

This home had no access to the attic space as the entry had been blocked off by the electronic garage door equipment so getting inside was not going to happen. We did however take a sheetrock knife and cut a small 3″ x 3″ hole in the garage side of the wall where the noise was coming from. Once the piece cut was removed a smaller sized sparrow poked it’s head out the hole and just looked at us. The bird starred for about 10 seconds before it jumped up on the side of the opening and then flew away. I could tell by the smile on the bird that it was happy to be free 🙂

Our Rescued Baby Squirrel

Needless to say a baby squirrel was found in the hot water tank closet in the garage. This squirrel was not injured, she had just fallen out of the attic space. I wanted to reunite the squirrel with it’s mother but It could take literally days to reunite her with her mother due to the lack of access and the risk of her falling 5′ if we just put her back in the 3 inch opening that was available in the closet. The baby squirrel also risked life from dehydration so we needed to act fast to assure this baby squirrel would have the highest possible chance for survival. I contacted a wildlife rehabilitation facility in Foil, Oklahoma called Wild Heart Ranch. The people at the ranch were very pleasant and understood the need for this animal to have a place to go and asked that I bring her in.

Once I arrived at the ranch I was given a tour of the facility and got to meet many of the wildlife animals they care for. Our baby squirrel was immediately cared for and fed. She was placed with three other squirrels that were about her age. I said goodbye to the baby squirrel knowing she was in good hands. The ranch that took her in takes donations in order to run and they help hundreds of animals that wouldn’t have a chance without this help. Anybody that looks to make a donation should consider donating to this rehabilitation facility that helps these animals with such care. You can find their website at http://www.wildheartranch.org

Nuisance Wildlife Removal Services in Broken Arrow, Jenks and Bixby, Oklahoma

Nuisance Wildlife Removal Services in Broken Arrow, Jenks and Bixby, Oklahoma

With winter soon turning to spring problem wildlife pests will begin having babies. This could be a problem if you have these wild animals living in your attic or crawl space. Some of the animals you need to be concerned and worried about are the grey squirrel, the raccoon, the opossum and of course skunks.

Squirrels chew wiring and ruin facia, soffit on the home. Raccoons urinate and leave their feces in large piles on the sheetrock between the ceiling joists. These piles are moist, carry possible disease and pathogens. The feces and urine is absorbed into the sheetrock and ruins it. If the raccoons are left in the attic space it will in a relatively quick manner turn into a family of raccoons and the amount of fecal matter and urine becomes more then the ceilings can hold and these animals will fall through the ceiling crashing into your bedroom, living room or whatever room they were nesting above.

Skunks are a problem due to an awful smell that comes from a gland in their anus. Once they spray the smell can be so strong that you cannot live or stay in the home. The smell will penetrate through walls, clothing, the beds and any other porous items in the home. Skunks dig around the structure to build nests. Sometimes they will enter crawl spaces or dig under the slab of a home. They need removed before they become a problem.

Opossums live in and around structures as well. They eat about anything they can find. These wildlife pests will go through the trash just like a dog or a raccoon will do. Opossums need removed from the property before they get stuck inside the walls or in the attic. They smell bad, they also can bite if handled.

Regardless of the pest you have living in your home, it needs removed. For more about wildlife pests visit us online at Nuisance Wildlife Pests

Mole and Gopher Control Services

Mole and Gopher Control Services.
By Billy Howard – EnviroTech Exterminating

Nobody wants a yard full of Moles, Gophers or Voles. These mammals can destroy a yard while taking the good bugs from the soil. Moles detect movement in the soil by beneficial insects and worms. These are the Moles primary food source. The problem with this is the soil is aerated by worms and grubs. If the beneficials are reduced or removed from a yard than the yard dies!!!!

Gophers eat away at the roots of plants and grasses. These pests can be devastating for a garden or farm. Those new plants you worked so hard planting will likely not live if you have a gopher problem.

Another pest that destroys yard are Voles. These pests are vegetarian and much like gophers eat away at roots. They tunnel and destroy vegetation along the way.

So, why are these pests so hard to deal with? One thing these pests all have in common is very high metabolisms. They also have very fast reproductive rates. The mole has one of the fastest metabolisms of any mammal and this is why most poisons are not effective when it comes to mole control. So, what can be done about moles?

Mole

EnviroTech Exterminating offers Mole and Gopher Control Services. We apply repellants that drive these pests from the yard. If the food tastes bad, they move on to find better hunting grounds. How is this treatment performed? The EPA Exempt product is applied directly to the yard and around the area of infestation. The area then will need watered for at least twenty minutes, then the process is repeated 14 day’s later. We then recommend regular applications on a thirty day interval.

Where are these services available? EnviroTech services the metro Tulsa area including Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby and Owasso. If you live in the Tulsa metro area, your in the service area.

Who much does this service cost? The cost of this service is based on yard size. The program has an initial treatment fee with follow-up services provided at a drastically reduced rate once the problem is controlled. All pricing is based on yard size.

Why is this a better method of dealing with Moles and Gophers than trapping or poisoning these animals? The problem with poison is these animals can come above ground when they are dying. If a dog or cat finds a poisoned mole or vole they may eat the animal, put the animal in their mouths and possibly ingest poisons. Trapping the animals is a great idea and works but trapping alone may costs hundreds of dollars only to see the moles, voles and/or gophers your neighbors have move into the tunnels the trapped ones built. These animals are opportunistic and will take over a tunnel that is good feeding grounds.

Gopher

1)     It changes the living environment of these pests to make the             foods they feed on taste bad.
2)     There are no bad smells during or after application.
3)     All products DO NOT HARM ANIMALS and may be                   safely used near people and pets.

If this program sounds like what your looking for, call us today at (918) 282-7621. We are always happy to discuss pest problems. You can also visit online at Mole and Gopher Control to read more about these pests.
